Rachel Strachino is the Founder of BFF Pet Rescue and Boarding. Rachel began her work as a boarding facility and quickly learned how many dogs are in need of homes that are on death row at local shelters. Since Rachel had the space, she decided to start her own rescue in hopes of helping save more lives. Rachel places over 200 dogs per year in homes, she has contacts not only in California but also Washington and Oregon which opens up her foster and adopter base to a much broader audience. Rachel believes in having an “all-breed” rescue but finds that the dogs in the most need are larger breed dogs. Rachel has trainers she works with on a daily basis that come to the rescue to assist with dogs who have behavioral issues. She lives on the property at BFF Pet Rescue and works directly with each dog to ensure their proper placement. Each dog is able to run on her 5 acres of land, they work with staff and are given individual and personalized treatment which includes being “tucked” into their beds each night. Prior to each adoption, each home goes through the application process and home check as well as multiple follow ups to ensure a forever home for each animal. Rachel is truly what can only be described as a “savior” of all animals, her dedication is what truly carries this rescue to their greatest success and achievements.
